Our Ancestor’s Landscape
The Great Walls of Macchupicchu
FOTOS ACENSTRALES
Every time I look at these pictures I feel it is impossible not to experience the sense of peace and harmony with nature the way the Incas did. This is an amazing work of art portrayed by Peruvian natives hundreds of years ago. A lot of questions arise from their work and lot of things are to be learned from them. Most importantly, I seek the way to preserve their legacy in my every day work. As a Landscaper, I pursue to follow their rules at the time of working with the environment and designing new landscapes. This is not only a self-promise but a commitment with my ancestors, clients and nature.
Back in 2000 I had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Inca Empire with my family. As always, more than a vacation trip, this visit had a profound impact on my own perception of the world. These ancestors of mine, worked using advanced mathematical skills, they mastered even the most difficult sciences like neurosurgery with surprising outcomes. Yet, despite all their knowledge they managed to stay a nature friendly culture. Inevitably, this harmony with the environment brings peace to the eye holder.
Notice, please, how in this landscaping work and how these retaining walls seem to match the landscape. Take a look at the sharp cut between each stone. Each one is carefully matched in a puzzle like fashion. They did all this work to honor our planet, and yet it worked to protect themselves from their enemies. We call ourselves civilized but in many opportunities, we fail to accomplish our goals without harming the environment.
For that reason, La Zucena, is committed to be a landscaping company willing to do all the work honoring this same quality in every single detail without compromising our commitment to our planet and our customers. This is the Inca legacy in our company.
